Heavy equipment welding repair in Greenwood, Indiana
Cracked buckets, worn pin bores, broken booms and torn trailer frames, repaired at your site. Line boring on the rig. Rates published right here on the website.
Serving Johnson County and the Indianapolis south side along I-65.
Heavy equipment welding repair in Greenwood runs $115 to $145 per hour for mobile steel work with a 2 hour minimum, and most bucket cracks, boom gussets and trailer frame breaks are finished on site the same day. Worn pin bores are the exception: those call for line boring, which we price at $650 to $1,200 for a single position or $1,400 to $2,400 for a full day across multiple bores. The machine stays where it sits. A welding truck comes to your jobsite, farm or warehouse with a generator, air arc gouging gear (it carves a crack out to clean metal before welding) and a portable boring bar, so a 45,000 pound excavator never rides a lowboy just to fix an ear on its bucket. Access drives the price more than steel does: a crack at waist height in an open yard welds in half the time of the same crack overhead in a trench box.

These ranges come straight from the rates on our pricing page. The number nobody mentions up front is access: a crack you can reach at waist height welds in half the time of the same crack overhead in a trench.

Built for Hoosier ground and south side workloads
Greenwood is pouring concrete in every direction. Warehouse floors along Graham Road, new distribution buildings near County Line Road, and over a thousand home sites under construction across Johnson County mean excavators, dozers and skid steers working long hours in clay that eats cutting edges. That is the work this outfit is set up for: machinery repairs measured in hours, not in days lost to a shop queue in Indianapolis. The trucks come fully equipped with welder, generator, air arc and plasma cutting, and enough steel stock for gussets, wear plates and small fabrication on the spot.
Where we work
Questions we get on the phone
Do you come to the jobsite or do I have to haul the machine?
We come to you. Our rig carries a welder, generator, torch set and a portable line boring machine, so an excavator with a cracked bucket ear or worn pin bores gets fixed in your yard or on the pad. Hauling a 20 ton machine to a shop usually costs more than the weld repair itself.
How much does mobile welding cost in Greenwood?
Our steel welding rate is $115 to $145 per hour with a 2 hour minimum and a $75 trip fee inside Johnson County and the Indy south side. Every rate is listed on our pricing page, including line boring day rates and the after hours multiplier.
Can you fix a cracked excavator bucket on site?
Yes. Most bucket cracks, torn corner wear plates and loose cutting edges are a same day, on site repair. We gouge the crack out, preheat where the plate thickness calls for it, weld it full, then add gusseting or hardfacing if the failure point needs reinforcement.
What is line boring and when do I need it?
Line boring restores worn pin bores on booms, sticks, buckets and loader arms. If a pin knocks, a bushing spins, or a bucket wanders side to side, the bore is worn oval. We weld the bore up and machine it back to round on the machine, no teardown haul required.
Do you handle night and weekend breakdowns?
We do. After hours work bills at 1.5 times the standard rate, which is also published on the pricing page. For a machine holding up a pour or a dock door that will not close before a truck arrives, call the number at the top of the page.
Something else broken? Call (463) 222-0589 and describe it. If it is steel, we have probably welded one.
